About Us

In a time of political realignment, conservatives have a distinct role to play in ensuring that the most essential issues of self-government remain the foundation of the republic. Those who advocate for adherence to the Constitution and rule of law, trusted and trustworthy elections, federalism, and similar traditional principles of a government by the People belong to a “civic right.”

Since 2021, the R Street Institute and the SNF Agora Institute at Johns Hopkins University have convened many such conservatives across the nation, providing forums for them to focus on these issues specifically. This website is intended to publicly demonstrate examples of their opinions and work.

What We Do

This site serves as a platform for concrete examples of this community’s evolving and essential perspectives. You’ll find curated data, timely commentary, and related relevant resources. Given the magnitude of public attention on the 2024 election, many examples to-date relate to election administration and reform, as well as public confidence in the process. These resources will be maintained and others will be added over time.

Our country must ensure that our elections are trusted and trustworthy.

By and large, Americans trust their local election officials, providing them a crucial platform to improve confidence in our republic. With this in mind, five conservative chief election officials have led the charge in advocating for three broad principles, to:

Publicly affirm the security and integrity of elections across the U.S. and avoid fueling unwarranted doubt in other jurisdictions

1

Use transparency and public outreach to reassure Americans

2

Champion policy changes that can help build trust in our elections system and other institutions of government.
